He Wins a Scholarship in the Marmaduke Military Academy

Dallas, Tex., Sept. 10 - In a scholarship contest conducted by the Times-Herald, which closed yesterday afternoon, Robert Franklin James won the prize in the city over all competitors.  There were forty in the race in the city and young James led by 10,000 majority, polling 24,500 votes.  He is the only son of Frank James, formerly of Missouri, and a bright, popular boy of 13 years.

Young James was placed in nomination by his teacher in the public schools, with whom he was a great favorite, and hundreds of ballots were cast for him by residents of Dallas.  The scholarship is in the Marmaduke Military Academy, at Sweet Springs, and young James will leave for Missouri Saturday to begin school life at Sweet Springs.

Edgar P. Moore, of Lancaster, won the other scholarship offered by the paper.
